A Head of Data is needed to join the team at this leading provider of economic data based in London on a full-time basis.

This role is office based 5 days a week (Monday-Friday).
Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Data is responsible for day-to-day management of IPL Data.
Operating across multiple facilities, IPL demands a high degree of coordination to deliver accurate, high-quality information to clients on time.
About the Company The company provides financial institutions with global financial data, including corporate actions, pricing, reference data, and analytics.They support clients by offering flexible data services tailored for use across trading, risk management, compliance, and financial analysis.
Their comprehensive data covers equities, derivatives, fixed income, economic indicators, investment funds, and tax information, with services available through various delivery options like APIs.
Key Responsibilities This role is a hands-on management role.
Arrange twice weekly meetings with various Heads of Departments who will be reporting to you.
You will be guiding them in hiring and managing staff, working closely with our HR Department.
Assist in training and development of the teams.
Ensure that all client complaints and or suggestions are expedited and dealt with, and you will be a final escalation point before the CEO.
Explore with your managers new data sources, new ways of gathering data and where appropriate the use of machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Travel will be required as needed.
Define the company's governance policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate the company's solutions into business processes.
Develop scalable, automated data products and reporting processes.
Define and monitor KPIs related to data quality to ensure accuracy and reliability of data and marketing insights.
Perform the role in compliance with the company's quality and security objectives as defined in their policies and procedures.
Ensure that staff under your supervision perform their duties in line with company policies and procedures.
Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required.

Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Business, Economics, or a related field 10 years of experience in data, operations, and/or analytics.
Required Experience Extensive hands-on experience in data gathering and the building of data products.
Proven success in developing and implementing data strategies.
Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices to align data strategy with business objectives.
Experience with career development and managing a team.
Provide subject matter expertise on various data governance and best-practice principles to inform delivery priorities and scheduling.
You will need to have worked as a data sourcer and have previously developed data products.
Required Skills Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, to establish a new way of working and enhance deliverables and productivity within the product management community.
Flexibility, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proven track record in building and deploying data-driven solutions.
Ability to operate across multi-jurisdictions and willing to develop new processes to optimise productivity and automation.
