Powder Coater - Trainee
Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Powder Coater on behalf of our client based in Telford, Shropshire on a temporary to permanent basis.
The successful candidate, will be looking for an opportunity to develop within an organisation, work well within a small team and will be open to learning all aspects of the business as part of the companies long-term plan to develop their staff.
Hours: Mon-Thurs 8:00am – 17:00pm & Fri 8:00am – 16:00pm | 45 minutes for lunch.
Pay: £11.74 per hour.
Duties Include but not limited to:
• Picking stock from the warehouse using internally generated works orders.
• Ensure picked product is accurate prior to powder coating.
• Use of power tools, Dremel, buffing wheel.
• Disassembly of products using hand tools.
• Cleaning, masking & hanging of components.
• Powder coating components.
• Effective oven management to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Quality checking components post powder coating to ensure they are to the correct standard.
• Ensuring appropriate throughput of parts through the powder coating process to achieve efficient productivity; this may involve starting a process or completing a process outside “normal” working hours.
• Powder coating booth housekeeping including full clean down of all equipment on colour and changing Gun & cup, line, filters, catch draw etc.
• Maintain tidy powder shelf preventing powder contamination.
• Powder stock checks.
• Be alert to any equipment issues and maintenance.
• Ensure appropriate stock levels of Hooks, tape, cleaner and standard Powders (RTD, ORB, BK, GM) instigate reordering through production manager.
• Resolve issues in a timely manner i.e., handle bubbles in oven (which will always occur)
• Be organised with an attention to detail.
• Ensure all PPE (supplied) is used at the correct times.
• Naturally, you may be asked to perform other tasks and duties within your capability.
Ideal Candidate:
• No experience in powder coating required, but someone who is happy to be taught the process and is open to training.
• Passionate about developing within an organisation.
• Works well within a small team environment.
• A keen interest in spray painting.
• High attention to detail.
