Job Title: Credit Controller

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 DOE

About Us: Robert Half is a leading recruitment agency, and we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our client's finance team. This role is crucial in managing and maintaining the company's credit policies, ensuring timely payments, and minimizing bad debt.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
2. Set up and maintain accurate credit limits.
3. Review and approve customer credit applications.
4. Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments.
5. Contact customers via phone, email, and letters to chase overdue invoices.
6. Negotiate payment plans with customers where necessary.
7. Issue monthly customer statements and reminder letters.
8. Reconcile customer accounts to ensure all payments are correctly allocated.
9. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts.
10. Prepare and maintain accurate records of all collection activities.
11. Prepare regular reports on debtors and outstanding balances for management.
12. Analyze data to identify trends and areas of improvement.
13. Report on the status of credit and collection activities.
14. Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to resolve customer queries.
15. Liaise with external agencies, legal departments, and collection agencies when necessary.
16. Ensure all credit control procedures comply with company policies and legal requirements.
17. Recommend improvements to credit policies and procedures as necessary.
18. Maintain positive working relationships with customers to facilitate timely payments.
19. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer queries and concerns promptly.
Qualifications:
20. Proven experience in credit control, debt collection, or a similar role.
21. Strong understanding of credit management principles and practices.
22. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
23. Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
24. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
25. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
