Main duties of the job
The Senior Estates Manager has managerial, professional and technical responsibility for the operational estate team, bringing best practice and professional standards whilst ensuring compliance and regulatory standards are monitored and managed consistently and effectively across the estates function.
With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

Estate Management
Help develop and championeffective use of the CAFM and compliance systems.
Ensure compliance standards areembedded across the service, regular reporting is in place, investigating wherestandards not met and ensuring measures are in place to mitigate identifiedissues.
Ensure hard services aremanaged in accordance with agreed process, procedures and statutory compliance,guidance, and best practice.
Ensure condition and lifecycleprocess delivered to support in year budget management and definition of annualbudget submissions.
Manage the delivery of estatecapital investment and small projects ensuring project scope and programmesdeliver against specific outcomes arising from the estate strategy.
Development of sub-strategies tothe estate strategy and associated policies and SOPs.
Responsibility for theorganisational green plan and net zero strategy.
Support the Head of Estates andHealth and Safety in the development and implementation of estates resiliencemanagement systems including emergency response and business continuity.
Proactively identify andimplement efficiencies in system of work and financials to support the progressof the organisation.
Ensure themaintenance of the tree register, overseeing annual maintenance checks andcompletion of recommendations in accordance with the tree preservation orders.

Operational responsibility forEstates budgets, projecting year end position on a monthly basis.
Oversight and ongoingdevelopment of CAFM and compliance systems.
Provide operational expertisein all matters pertaining to the estate including compliance, asset management,service delivery and capital investment where required.
Oversight of Maintenance,Gardening, Transport and Logistics, ensuring that responsibilities aredelivered in an efficient and timely manner.
Management of Estates RiskRegister, ensuring issues are escalated to the Head of Estates and Health &Safety as appropriate.
Ensure that fire safetyprecautions are implemented, following a risk managed approach.
Participate in on-call duties,providing management support out of hours as may be required.
Coordination and oversite of contracts.

Deputise as required for headof department.
Support head of department inestate requirements.
Line management and leadershipof Facilities Manager.

Provide strong leadership,motivating and engaging direct reports and other members of the Estates team,supporting the Head of Estates and Health & Safety in the delivery ofestates strategy and other duties that may be assigned. This includesdeveloping and refining systems and processes, whilst delivering professionaland customer orientated services.

Represent the department atcommittees and meetings with different types of stakeholders.

Provide detailed actions to address these issues, andreport regularly to the Head of Estates and Health & Safety.

Experience
Essential
1. Substantial experience in building services and proven experience in estates Health and Safety services at an appropriate management level.
2. Working knowledge of complete engineering systems and maintenance procedures.
Desirable
3. Evidence of managing compliance in an estates environment including data capture, reporting and risk management.
4. Evidence of achievements in a complex work environment including effective management of change.
