Stores Assistant (Ref: SA1224) Position: Stores Assistant Department: Stores Division Reporting to: Stores Manager Status of post:Full-Time Permanent Salary: Remuneration Package will be competitive and in line with experience Job Description The role of the Stores Assistant will be pivotal to Irwin M&Es ongoing growth and success. It is vital the successful candidate can work as part of the dynamic stores team. The purpose of the role is to manage all aspects of stores tasks. It will include, but not be limited to the following: Maintain a safe working environment within the Stores areas and current Health and Safety legislation is observed, including basic house-keeping. Ensure all received goods are undamaged and that everything ordered is present and accounted for. Arrange material kits for collection by engineers. Communicate with engineers on a daily basis regarding materials. Check accuracy and condition of material returned to stores by engineers for return to suppliers. Complete goods return notes and arrange with suppliers for collection of returned material. Request, collate and analyse quotations for procurement of materials (after training) Keep a constant check on stock levels Control of calibrations of plant and equipment Performing any other duties that may be deemed necessary to ensure the effective running of the Department and Company Upon successful training and development our vision for the role will be that the suitable candidate will progress to a buyer within the stores department. Essential Skills & Experience IT skills (to be able to use company business system with initial training Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines Ability to demonstrate good team ethos Desirable Skills & Experience Previous experience in a similar stores role Previous experience in Building, Mechanical and Electrical materials.
