Pay Enhancements
* Weekday Night Shift (22:00 – 6:30): 20% additional pay
* Saturday: 20% additional pay
* Sunday: 50% additional pay
* Bank Holidays: 50% additional pay
About the Service
Set within picturesque landscaped gardens, this facility offers a range of comprehensive inpatient mental health services for young people and adults. The focus of the service is to help people live their best lives in a safe and supportive environment.
The acute mental health units for adult male and female patients provide a 24-hour admission service to support local NHS services and PICU wards. The ethos of the acute wards is to provide support during a crisis and offer therapeutic engagement throughout the inpatient stay. The specialist inpatient acute teams are committed to delivering high-quality care for a variety of mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, personality disorders, depression, and bipolar disorder.
Job Responsibilities
* Provide and support nursing care to the ward, acting as a named nurse for a defined group of patients.
* Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care collaboratively with patients and their families.
* Accurately communicate with and engage with service users to assess needs and evaluate progress.
* Promote and adhere to the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) model.
* Participate in relevant quality improvement processes and clinical governance.
* Provide accessible information about care to service users and their families.
* Act as the Nurse in Charge of the ward, ensuring a safe environment.
* Maintain accurate clinical records and facilitate effective team communication.
* Support and contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) practice.
* Adhere to codes of practice and national guidelines.
About You
* Active registration with the NMC.
* Knowledge of NMC standards, guidelines, and professional practices.
* Demonstrates a positive attitude and commitment to service improvement and quality.
* Ability to develop and use flexible and innovative approaches to practice.
* Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills, and IT literate.
