Job Opportunity: Teaching Assistant for Year 1 Class
Location: Primary School in Birkenhead
Start Date: September 2024
Duration: Ongoing basis
Schedule: Monday to Friday
We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Teaching Assistant to join a Year 1 classroom team at a friendly primary school in Birkenhead. This is a wonderful opportunity to support the educational development and well-being of young learners in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
– Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities
– Support individual students with their learning and development
– Help maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment
– Collaborate with colleagues to create a nurturing educational experience for all students
– Provide additional support to students with special educational needs, if required
Requirements:
– Experience supporting in phonics and a clear grasp of the expectations with general classroom support
– A patient and friendly demeanour
– Strong communication and teamwork skills
– Willingness to adapt to the needs of the classroom
– Relevant qualifications in education or child development are advantageous

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
15. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
16. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
17. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
18. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
19. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills
