The renal department is unique, friendly, dynamic, and promotes clinical excellence for all of our nursing teams across our 3 sites in Norfolk, and are delighted to be in a position to offer a rare opportunity for a Registered Nurse Band 5 post at Cromer Renal Unit, Cromer & District Hospital, Cromer.
Our nurse-led, outpatient hemodialysis unit at Cromer and District Hospital has 9 hemodialysis stations and operates from 06.00hrs - 21.00hrs Monday to Saturday, and closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day every year. Their patient group totals approx. 60 patients and due to the frequency that patients attend for treatment, the unit has a real community feel to it.
Our departmental Clinical Education team pride themselves on providing the highest standard of support and training, with an extensive competency document to complete 'on the job' to gain the skills you require to be a specialist renal practitioner.

Main duties of the job
You will function as part of the Multidisciplinary Team within the department, to provide a seamless service to patients and provide support to junior colleagues.
You will continue to develop and undertake a range of delegated tasks and will report to the Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse and Senior Sister. The Registered Nurse will provide a high standard of general/specific care for an identified client group and will be proficient and competent to work across professional disciplines.

Job responsibilities
* Ensure practice is in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and work within limits of competence.
* To have successfully completed the Trusts preceptorship programme.
* Maintain a high standard of nursing care applying evidence-based practice.
* Carry out assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care without supervision.
* Carry out the daily personal care of patients.
* Maintain accurate records of all care given.
* Update patient administration systems e.g. PAS to ensure real time data collection and confidentiality.
* To effectively use information technology for the benefit of patient care in accordance with the Trusts Cyber Code of Conduct.
* To maintain confidentiality of information (written, verbal, electronic), whilst being aware of the Freedom for Information Act.
* To promptly and effectively communicate relevant changes in patient status to the multi-disciplinary team.
