A Piping Inspector is required to inspect, assess and report on the condition of pressurised piping and equipment. They must evaluate equipment condition, determine suitability for continued service and ensure compliance with UK legislation.
Responsibilities include:
• Acting as a competent person for mechanical pressure system inspections
• Creating NDT plans and selecting suitable techniques for degradation detection
• Carrying out corrosion loop inspections and preparing work packs
• Reviewing piping work packs and line walks to identify inspection needs
• Preparing inspection reports and recommending future inspection intervals
• Creating CAIRS and submitting repair recommendations
• Liaising with clients and departments to meet work deadlines
• Carrying out structural inspections, PFP inspections and small bore tubing inspections
• Organising weekly workloads and ensuring inspection targets are met
The role requires:
• 5 years' experience in a similar role
• Working knowledge of the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Competence in computer packages
• Ability to co-ordinate and prioritise work effectively
Required qualifications include:
• UKAS RG2 Category 3
• PCN Level 2 qualifications in UT, MPI and DPI
• IRATA Rope Access, L1, L2 or L3
• ASME Level 1 Plant inspector and/or API 570
