Job summary
North Watford Primary Care Network has an exciting opportunity for a PCN paramedic to join their well-established team, on a full-time, permanent basis.
Working at the equivalent to a Band 7, the role offers on going educational and professional support.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment at first point of contact by attending to patients.
2. Accurately triage and prioritise patients, including in emergency situations.
3. Evaluate clinical information from examination and history taking, and initiate appropriate treatment and/or referral.
4. Undertake and interpret diagnostics taking the appropriate action to manage patient care.
5. Signpost appropriately to other services in the identified healthcare pathway.
6. Refer patients to appropriate care settings, within locally agreed healthcare pathways.
7. Discharge or treat, as appropriate and within the scope of practice.
8. Maintain accurate and systematic documentation of patient interactions and clinical care provided, including adverse events.
9. Advise and support members of the public on healthy lifestyles, health promotion and disease prevention.
10. Provide clinical advice to other members of the team where appropriate.

Qualifications
Essential
11. Current registered nurse (NMC) or registered paramedic (HCPC).
12. Evidence of continued professional development.
13. Attended X-ray/IRMER course.
14. Teaching and assessment qualification.
15. ALS/APLS provider.
16. Completed RCN clinical leadership programme or similar.
Experience
Essential
17. Experience as a practitioner in an A&E Department or similar emergency care centre.
18. Experience as an autonomous practitioner within a minor injury/illness centre or mobile service.
19. Dispensing skills as per protocols and patient group directives.
20. Ability to manage multiple workloads.
21. Good communication skills.
22. Able to work autonomously.
23. Record keeping skills.
24. Able to promote a learning environment.
