Job summary
There is an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Clinical Support Assistant with the Psychiatric Liaison Team based at Cumberland Infirmary.
Your role will be to work alongside the delirium team providing screening for patients within the acute trust. You will then support staff, families, and patients in their recovery, helping them to work through the effects of delirium. You will be able to provide support to families when it can be distressing to see their loved one confused and to help them understand the temporary nature of this condition. We are a seven-day-a-week service and the delirium team covers the wards.
Main duties of the job
This role would require the successful applicant to be highly motivated and have excellent active listening skills, have experience in caring, and have some basic knowledge of delirium and dementia. We will provide you with training in how to screen for delirium and regular supervision.

Education and Qualification
Essential
1. Senior Healthcare Support Worker or equivalent or working towards
Desirable
1. Experience of working with client group.
2. GCSE in maths and English
Knowledge and Experience

1. Experience of working/volunteering in an appropriate care setting

Skills and Competencies

1. Good verbal and written skills
