This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful security company who specialise in Security / Access Control Systems to some of the UK's largest Utility companies across the UK, to join as an ambitious Electrical CAD Technician and help to develop the business during an exciting phase of growth
Hours – Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 5:00pm
As an experienced AutoCAD Technician, you will be working as part of a close knit team, taking concept designs through to detailed manufacturing drawings using your knowledge of AutoCAD and similar design software, as well as experience of working on a wide variety of security projects.
Key Skills & Competencies:
1. Experience of creating / modifying schematics in Autodesk AutoCAD (minimum 2 years).
2. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications (essential)
3. Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively using Microsoft teams (essential).
4. Experience of dealing with a key infrastructure client (preferable).
5. Knowledge of HV/LV distribution systems and electrical building systems (preferable).
6. Proficient in producing intelligent library blocks with attributes for data extraction.
7. Proficient in CAD data file management and drawing management procedures
8. Good attention to detail, working in a fast paced environment
9. Ability to work as part of a small team / liaise with site teams
10. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to deal with requests for information in a professional manner
11. Previous experience in the design and drawing of site layouts and associated equipment.
12. Knowledge / experience of National Grid Drawing procedures TP would be advantageous
Main Role & Responsibilities:
13. Prepare, produce, develop and amend drawings in accordance with appropriate standards and procedures and in line with the agreed timescales and deadlines.
14. Provide technical support to shop floor and on-site technicians.
15. Revise drawings and red-line markups appropriately.
16. Liaise and communicate effectively with stakeholders, across various teams and discipline groups, across various projects.
17. Be pro-active in streamlining and automating drawing, Engineering processes and propose improvement ideas.
18. Attend occasional site surveys.
