Interested in a career as a Cardiology Specialist Nurse ?
An opportunity has arisen to work as a Full time Cardiology specialist nurse at Furness General Hospital.
We are keen to receive applications from people wanting to develop their cardiac knowledge, having completed the educational module they would be working alongside our established in cardiology specialist nursing team.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with previous cardiology experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level.
Main duties of the job
Applicants should be willing to undertake necessary training courses and modules and have some previous experience of cardiology/cardiac nursing.
This post involves face to face contact with patients and their families in an acute setting by delivering clinics and assessing patients on the wards.
The successful candidate will be expected to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised programmes of evidence-based care (pharmacological and non-pharmacological management) and provide specialist advice to patients, carers/relatives.
About us
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
