We are currently seeking an experienced Residential Deputy Manager to join our services based in Carlisle.
North Lakes Children’s Services is a well-established local provider of therapeutic residential care and education for boys aged 6-18. We improve the resilience, self-esteem and abilities of all the young people we work with.

Main Duties:
* Responsible for ensuring that the Statement of Purpose is in place, reflecting the appropriate needs of young people and outlining qualifications, experience, and expertise of the staff employed within the home.
* Responsible for ensuring a full flow of information into and out of the team and developing effective communication strategies and systems.
* Responsible for the effective management and development of a range of quality direct services to young people, ensuring that the policies and procedures of North Lakes Children’s Services are implemented.
* Ensure that staff training and development needs are identified and met, assisting in training staff as required.
* Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety Regulations as per North Lakes Children’s Services policies, procedures, and practices.
* Regularly inspect the condition of the building and ensure that all necessary equipment is in good working order.
* Manage effective finance budgets, control, administration, and records in compliance with North Lakes Children’s Services expectations and procedures.
* Promote and implement the company's Equality and Diversity policies and ensure staff understand and implement the company's Child Protection Procedures.
* Set, monitor, and evaluate standards at individual, team performance, and service quality.
* Establish and manage team communication systems ensuring that procedures, policies, strategies, and objectives are effectively communicated to all team members.
* Ensure that professional practice in the team is carried out to the highest standards and developed in line with the company’s objectives of continual improvement in service quality.
* Provide vision and leadership to staff within a specialist team, ensuring effective systems for workload allocation and management, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
* Manage a designated budget ensuring value for money through monitoring and control of expenditure.
* Ensure all members of staff receive supervision and appraisal in accordance with the company’s procedures.
* Commit to promoting a just society that gives everyone an equal chance to learn, work, and live free from discrimination and prejudice.
* Maintain confidentiality regarding all personal and/or confidential information accessed during the course of work.
* Participate in the induction programme, including the CWDC 2-day course to help new employees become effective in their roles.
All Applicants must have:
* An understanding of the issues that face young people in care.
* Hold a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
* Excellent communication and listening skills.
* Willingness to learn.
* Able to work well as part of a small team.
* Willingness to undertake a DBS check at enhanced level if successful for the position (paid for by us).
* Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work would be advantageous.
* A full, clean UK driving licence and ability to cover at other Residential Homes as needed.
