Purpose of Job
The development of model based control systems for engine, vehicle, EV torque control, thermal management & data acquisition applications working with internal and external teams on research, prototype development and small volume production solutions.
Duties
1. Support model based control system developments.
2. Refine/define strategy requirements.
3. Develop software in Simulink & Targetlink.
4. Support system modelling, software testing & simulation (Sil/MiL).
5. Support HIL rig development, set-up for client projects and deliver sign-off testing.
6. Support the design & build of custom signal interfaces, instrumentation, test rigs, etc.
7. Support issue investigations when required.
8. Provide support to projects off-site when required.
Skills and Experience
1. Experience with control systems development including code generation.
2. Experience working with MATLAB, Simulink, TargetLink, auto code generation, source control.
3. Familiar with ETAS INCA & Vector analysis tools.
4. Practical knowledge of working with CAN networks & protocols, manipulating dbc files & configuring messages.
5. Familiar with ISO26262.
6. Experience with programming in C/C++.
7. Familiar with automotive electrical environment (controls, component & comms technologies).
Competencies
1. Degree in electrical/electronic engineering or similar mechatronics/software development.
2. Familiar with automotive electrical environment (controls, component & comms technologies).
3. Ability to work on own and as part of a team.
4. Able to travel to work at client/partner sites, UK or overseas, for periods up to 4 weeks at a time.
5. Must be eligible to work in the UK to apply for this position.
