Control Room Operative Duties & Activities
The Control Room Operative plays an integral role in ensuring that consistently high standards of security, safety and customer care are delivered at all times to staff, assets and visitors on site.

Objectives
To ensure the security and safety of the client team staff, contractors, working colleagues;
To protect the assets of the client by following recognised best practice techniques/procedures
To ensure the security and safety of the site
To effectively organise and manage workloads as required without compromising quality of service provision
To respond to emergencies and assist with the evacuation and searching of the buildings by following all requirements of the site Emergency Response procedures.
Main Tasks
To monitor operational CCTV camera images within the Security Control Centre remit
To operate effectively all operational CCTV camera technologies
To prepare and maintain Security Control Centre equipment for operational use
To operate all other associated security control room technologies (perimeter alarms/object alarms/access control alarms)
Provide a high level of service to our clients with the emphasis on customer interaction.
To complete all administrative tasks to support the above
To interact with Emergency Services as required
Monitor all regional CCTV camera images to recognised best practise standards.
Observe the location of all security team members to enhance safety and provide best incident response resource solutions.
Perform monitoring tasks in line with all standing operational procedures.
Control the operation of all CCTV cameras to carry out necessary patrols.
Inspect equipment for failures and faults.
Arrange for the collation and viewing of CCTV images in response to incident investigation in line with the CCTV Code of Practise
Maintain accurate records and logs of all/any events.
Inform other team members of actions to ensure contingency of operations.
Communicate with operational staff concerning incidents, ensuring that all information escalation routines are observed.
Follow set procedures in the event of any incident/emergency event occurring.
Operation of the Control Room switchboard
Providing an immediate response to any major/minor site incidents.
Follow any such reasonable instruction as issued by Senior Line Management.
Ensure a detailed handover is given to the oncoming Controller.
To log defects on the CAFM system.
Core Skills & Competencies
Good communication skills essential, both written and oral.
Ability to operate in a pressurised environment.
Excellent customer service.
The ability to write short reports and follow written instructions.

Demonstrable proactive and professional approach to security.
The ability to use your initiative and make quick decisions to deal with unexpected situations.
Able to work in an outdoor environment in all conditions.

Experience
Retail experience preferred but not essential.
Applicants must have a 5-year checkable history.
You must successfully pass a PSNI check as per BS and BS screening.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage workload to meet team deadlines.
A willingness to learn and develop and show high level of commitment and professionalism.
Professional Qualifications/Education
SIA CCTV licence – essential.
SIA DS licence – desirable.
