Job Description
Loan Agency Operations Analyst
U.S. Bank Global Corporate Trust Services is one of the largest providers of corporate trust services in the world. Our clients look to us for trustee, agency, escrow, document custody and money market issuing services via our 48 domestic offices and three international offices.
The Loan Agency business in London manages a portfolio of 300+ deals and a wide variety of facilities including jumbo leveraged, syndicated, commercial real estate, project finance and direct lending style loans - where U.S. Bank acts as the facility agent and security agent on the transactions.
We are looking for someone to join the team who can bring strong client service, communication and time management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as a point of contact for Lenders and Borrowers.
2. Processing drawdowns, rollovers, rate fixing, transfers, interest and principal payments for a varied portfolio of deals including leverage finance, real estate, club deals and others.
3. Process Waterfall transactions.
4. Liaise with Relationship Managers in the review and negotiation of draft loan documentation from an operational perspective where the company is named as Facility Agent and Security Agent.
5. Manage the funding process for new transactions, ensuring system set-up and new deal checks are completed.
6. Manage the workflow for secondary market transfers, including signing transfer certificates, collecting transfer fees, and updating loan systems.
7. Work with the analytics team to build out waterfall calculations for Credit Real Estate and Index Linked transactions, and other bespoke agreements.
8. Review waivers and amendments from an operational perspective and update systems as necessary.
9. Attend meetings with Relationship Managers to ensure understanding of the responsibilities of the Agent for individual transactions.
10. Manage receipt and distribution of any financial information for allocated portfolio.
11. Prepare deal summary document for each transaction highlighting deal specific nuances.
12. Provide relevant data to maintain an accurate record of all transactions in the system database.
13. Communicate with Borrower, Lenders and other relevant parties in day-to-day issues/queries.
14. Liaise with systems vendors to resolve issues.
15. Prepare/check outgoing payments.
16. Manage external bank account set up, online access and administration rights in respect of required Borrower accounts.
17. Work with internal teams, collaborating with managers and project teams to streamline processes and provide continuous improvements.
Experience & Key Skills:
1. 1-3 years’ experience working in a Loan Agency function or 3rd Party Agent or a broader Loan Administration role.
2. Preferably knowledge of the Facility Agent/Security Agent function in LA.
3. Proven documentation review skills and ability to deal with complex refinancing.
4. Ability to manage own workflow and cope with complex transactions.
5. Excellent communication, time management and customer service skills.
6. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple demands whilst maintaining attention to detail.
7. Good Excel skills.
