Assistant Facilities Manager Location: Huntingdon, PE28 4NE Hours of work: 40 Contract Type: Permanent As the Assistant Facilities Manager, you will ensure the safe, compliant, and competent delivery of facility services as part of the client contract. Job Description Reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager (RFM), you will be responsible for managing and supervising the onsite facility staff, also known as Placemakers, as well as overseeing contractors within a designated geographic area. You will work closely with the Placemaker teams to create and maintain an outstanding workplace experience for all customers, ensuring high standards of service and operational efficiency. In addition to operational management, you will collaborate with the Facilities Manager to guarantee all staffing levels and service level agreements (SLA) are achieved on a daily basis. You will also be responsible for handling HR-related tasks, including onboarding, right-to-work (RTW) checks, staff investigations, and the training and development of your team. By maintaining a strong focus on compliance, customer service, and team performance, you will play a key role in the success of the overall facilities management service. Key Responsibilities Support the contract management team in the delivery and ongoing development of our service solution systems, identifying service improvement opportunities Maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment and ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation Roster facility Placemakers to ensure that all sites are manned to contractual requirements and covering any sickness or planned absences Ensure all documents such as Audits, COSHH, H&S and SOPs etc. are completed, kept up to date and reviewed at appropriate times Ensure effective recruitment, training and development of frontline Placemakers Ensure all services are delivered in a commercially responsible way Ensure all customer queries / complaints are correctly recorded through the customer complaints procedure Ensure all relevant periodic reporting and required paperwork and administration is completed on time Ensure rigorous cost control within agreed plans, such as expenditure in materials, consumable, pay and agency labour usage Maximise additional revenue opportunities such as extra cover and ad hoc work, as well as margin improvement opportunities through price reviews and additional services Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications Supervision experience working in a facilities or cleaning services environment Proven supervision and organisational skills with the ability to work under your own initiative, whilst following guidance from line management Demonstrate the ability to understand the impact of their service outcomes towards the success of the contract delivery Ability to solve challenging operational problems in a timely and resilient way The Company ISS is a world-leading workplace and facility management company, connecting people and places to make the world work better.
