Clinical Responsibilities
* To undertake a wide range of diagnostic imaging examinations in MRI and CT, adhering to departmental protocols.
* The post holder will demonstrate a high level of theoretical and technical skill and be able to adapt MRI and CT techniques to suit patient capabilities.
* To be able to assess and evaluate diagnostic images and take responsibility for ensuring optimum image quality within MRI and CT.
* To interpret clinical history and patient information correctly to ensure that the instructions for examinations are matched to the needs of the patient.
* To participate in the extended working day/week rota as required to meet the needs of service users.
* To be always accountable for own professional actions.
* To comply with MRI safety procedures and guidance, demonstrating a high level of knowledge of the bio-effects and risk management procedures.
* To comply with procedures and protocols under IR(ME)R and IRR.
* To act as an Operator under IR(ME)R.
* To ensure that radiation doses to patients are kept as low as reasonably practicable under IRR.

* DCR or BSC Hons in Radiology or equivalent qualification
* HCPC registration

* Post graduate qualification in MRI/CT
Knowledge

* Clinical governance
* H& S legislation
* IR(ME)R 2017
Desirable
* Shows current and up to date knowledge of legislation with regard to MRI and CT
Experience
Essential
* Experience in CT/MRI imaging techniques
* Proactive approach to CPD
* Identify potential risks and initiate appropriate action
Desirable
* Experience at a senior level
* Experience of extended role in the MRI/CT department
