£24,664 p.a. pro rata with sleep-in enhancements

We have a rewarding opportunity for you to join our Transforming Care team, helping our brilliant customers to live a fulfilling life in their own home within the local community.
You will be supporting our wonderful customer, M, a gentleman in his 40’s, who is fun and bubbly at heart. M is looking for an equally as bubbly team to provide support and encouragement, helping him enjoy the best quality of life through assisting with daily living activities and increasing his independence. With a wide range of interests M loves to be outdoors interacting with people.
Typical day as our Support Worker
1. Helping M overcome barriers, lead a fulfilling and meaningful life and reaching their true potential.
2. Recognising their strengths and abilities and help them to take the small steps at their pace, never losing sight of their dreams and aspirations.
3. Supporting M using our Positive Behavioural Support Model, to promote independence and social inclusion through person centred support.
4. Monitoring his mental and physical health to identify any signs of deterioration and take positive risk management to their health and wellbeing.
You Have
5. Experience in a complex care setting, with a level 2 Diploma in Adult Health and Social Care or are prepared to work towards it.
6. Worked as a Support Worker, supporting people with complex needs, or behaviours of distress.
7. A patient and calm approach, able to adapt your style to M’s needs, as well as the specific occasion and circumstances, even when they challenge us.
8. Experience of positive risk management, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of customers and colleagues.
Job Details
9. M needs 24/7 help to meet his needs, so you’ll take your turn with your team working on a rota. Shifts available include days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays or waking nights. You may also be required to do sleep ins in which an enhancement will be paid.
10. You’ll work primarily with M in his own home in Broadstairs, as well as supporting him in the community. But there may be opportunities to work with our other customers in Kent.
11. We’ll make sure you have a fantastic induction with ongoing learning support.
12. Ability to use technology to update and create support plans, communicate with colleagues, and complete online learning.
13. You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done – we pay for that
