About the role:
Reporting to the WA General Manager, and working alongside the Manufacturing & Procurement Manager, the Construction Manager's primary responsibilities will be to provide leadership, direction, and support to the Projects team. You will ensure we have exceptional customer satisfaction, profitability, and timely delivery of projects that meet both contract and client requirements. You will be accountable for the successful delivery of a range of projects across the housing, government & commercial sectors. The role will form part of the senior leadership team within WA and play a pivotal role in the future success of Fleetwood Australia. The Fleetwood Building Solutions office & manufacturing facility is based in High Wycombe.
Your key responsibilities of the role are:
* Overall responsibility and management of the Construction/Projects Department team, and the oversight of the successful delivery of projects, including construction site-based activities.
* Provide leadership, support and industry best practice procedural advice to relevant Project Managers whilst representing Fleetwood in the contractual management for the assigned projects.
* Participating in the preparation and delivery of tender assessments and contract documentation as may be required to ensure that Fleetwood’s interests are protected, and the associated procedures and processes are in accordance with Fleetwood policies.
* Reporting and management of issues associated with project delivery e.g., budget overruns, risks and issues, health and safety, design, site management and human resources.
* Ensuring and verifying that works are delivered in a manner that complies with relevant policies and procedures. Project Contract Programmes, Safe Work Method Statements and contractual terms, relevant technical standards, and design documentation.
* Manage the timely provision of applicable project reporting using Fleetwood systems and procedures.
* Participating and contributing to the planning and design phase of project delivery to ensure that matters of budget compliance, programme compliance, ‘Safety in Design’, and buildability are duly considered and complied with as required.
* Maintaining and developing positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders and providing leadership within the business for best practice in construction project management.
* Support in the growth and development of the projects/construction team by providing training, coaching, and mentoring and conducting periodic performance development reviews.
* Ensure timely production of project financial reporting.
About You:
The ideal candidate will be passionate, technical, and strategically minded. You will pride yourself on ensuring projects are delivered to the highest possible standard whilst valuing the significance of safety across all our projects. You will also be a natural leader with the ability to motivate and mentor your team. We are looking for someone who is adaptable & aspirational helping to maintain and drive Fleetwood's presence as one of Australia's leading modular construction companies. Ideally you will have proven experience as a Construction Manager or Senior Project Manager with exposure to modular construction methodologies ideal but not essential.
To be successful in this role you will also demonstrate:
* A tertiary university qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field and commensurate demonstrated experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
* 8+ years minimum of experience in all aspects of construction management.
* Relevant licences and accreditations e.g., White Card, Project management.
* Builders’ registration highly desirable.
* Demonstrable ability to work collaboratively and lead a project team. Building and maintaining relationships with external parties e.g., Clients, contractors, consultants, regulators, community.
* A good knowledge of financial management procedures relating to project planning, resource allocation, budgeting, cost management and reporting.
* Time management and work prioritisation skills. Ability to schedule and control multiple projects.
* Experience developing a supply chain for site works.
* Contract management experience and proven track record on large scale commercial building and construction projects.
* Fluent with Construction Contract documentation, administration and contract law including, but not limited to, the management of contractual variations.
* Excellent Client / Customer service skills.
* Current and valid Australian Driver's License.
