The Sanmina facility in Port Glasgow, Scotland, offers comprehensive cable technology development, design, prototyping and manufacturing services. It supports the Automotive, Industrial, Medical, and Telecommunications market with turnkey cable design services incorporating automation, over-molding, laser ablation, ultrasonic and resistive welding, and laser marking technologies.
Manufacturing Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Engineer develops, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. They collaborate with design engineering to coordinate new product releases, estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards and recommend tooling and process requirements for new or existing product lines.
Estimates manufacturing labor and cost, determines time standards, edits and maintains reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations. Creates/edits production Product Work Instructions and related SOPs.
This role plays an integral part in transitioning new products into sustaining production (NPI) and ongoing sustaining support, including Process Support and Process quality responsibilities.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
* Designing manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters
* Implementing and evaluating proposed designs and processes for manufacturability
* Troubleshooting process-related issues and fine-tuning processes to eliminate process-induced defects
* Implementing statistical process analysis on new and existing products
* Analyzing and planning workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designing equipment and workspace layout for maximum efficiency according to lean manufacturing principles
* New product introduction and sustaining product process improvements
* Reviewing rejects to develop process improvements that eliminate scrap
* Generating purchase requisitions to obtain equipment/supplies and/or replenish inventory as required
* Ensuring molding equipment meets specifications, schedules, and budgets
* Providing troubleshooting expertise and resolving Injection Molding problems using systematic approaches
Requirements:
* Hands-on experience with electromechanical assembly box builds
* 4 Year degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in Electronics Manufacturing Environment
* 2-4 years directly related experience, specifically in an electronic manufacturing environment
* Knowledge/experience with CAD packages (i.e. Solidworks)
* Experience in Oracle or ERP system
* Knowledge of Six Sigma
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience with FMEA
* Experience with product labeling
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
