Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley. Fixed term – 2 years.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a planning and enforcement officer to contribute to the Council’s high quality planning service provision and be involved in a varied and interesting workload.
We are looking to recruit a planner who will be responsible for investigating and resolving identified breaches in planning control, monitoring major applications and processing a range of planning applications and undertaking other related development management activities.
You must have a Degree in Planning or equivalent discipline and have membership of RTPI. Knowledge of planning legislation and development management regulations is essential as is effective communication, I.T, customer care and time management skills.
Experience of dealing with a range of planning applications is essential along with the ability to work as part of a team while using your own initiative to work to tight deadlines with the minimum of supervision.
A full, current driving licence is also essential.
We would also welcome applications from recent graduates and those currently working towards Chartered membership of RPTI with a view to developing an Assistant Planning and Enforcement Officer.
If successful, you will be required to unertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
