Restart Employment Advisor
The Growth Company's (GC) Employment team are looking for a Restart Employment Advisor to deliver a range of guidance and training services for unemployed people, and contribute to individuals’ progression into employment, training and education.
We help to make a lasting difference to the lives of people throughout the North of England and beyond, by supporting individuals to gain meaningful employment.
Our highly skilled advisers and keyworkers work with a range of individuals; from people who have found themselves recently out of work, to those with complex barriers such as physical disabilities, mental ill-health and debt.
We work with employers on their recruitment and skills needs to help place people into high quality sustainable jobs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work as part of a team to co-ordinate and deliver advice, guidance and training interventions that meet the needs of unemployed individuals; operate referral and liaison procedures with other agencies as required (. JCP, local referral partners, colleges, employers, training providers and recruitment agencies) to support peoples’ achievement of skills (including certification) and progression to employment, training and education.
2. Establish and deliver both one to one and group activities as part of customer interventions including initial assessments, inductions, job search sessions, failed to attend sessions with customers.
3. Deliver one to one intervention at induction and assessment and subsequent follow up appointments by one to one or group sessions.
4. Participate in other activities that support the work of the team and Growth Company, such as tender/bid writing, development of new products/services.

Skills required:
10. Able to demonstrate coaching/mentoring experience and persuasion/influencing skills through previous work or social activities.
11. Experience of working in a customer facing environment for example Customer Services, Hospitality, Social Care, Customer Services, Sales, Retail.
12. Experience of working in a performance target driven environment.
13. Willingness to travel locally (. to meet customers/employers).
14. Experience of exposure to various customer groups.
15. Previous experience of a working in a similar role in Welfare to Work or publicly funded services is desirable.
