About us:
Cultural Services is a 'family' of services that includes a large library service (64 static libraries, 5 mobile libraries, 5 prison libraries, home library service and resources team), a museum service (6 museums, conservation studio and archaeological site), conservation service, heritage learning team, archive and family history service, music service and music hub, outdoor education service and cultural and information development. Cultural Services comprises of around 800 staff spread across the Lancashire County Council footprint.
About you:
Are you a dynamic manager interested in leading the Cultural Services Information Development Team?
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in a relevant subject and an NVQ level 3 management qualification, with a professional qualification being desirable. You should have demonstrable experience in managing customer-facing digital and information services, working with internal and external partners, and managing staff and resources. Essential skills include the ability to lead and motivate teams, set and achieve measurable targets, solve problems, make effective decisions, and develop strategies. Excellent communication, customer care, and negotiation skills are also required, along with a strong understanding of national issues relating to digital and information services.
The role:
As the Information Development Manager, you will lead, direct, and be accountable for the strategic development, delivery, and promotion of digital and information services across Cultural Services. You will develop and coordinate policies, strategies, and guidelines for Cultural services. You will provide effective leadership and motivation to the Information Development Team.
This is a permanent post based at County Hall, Preston. The hours are 37 per week working Monday to Friday. We are currently working with greater flexibility and have a blended approach with attendance at an office base and working from home. The start date will be on or after 1st April 2025.
